Kim: EBT cards now being taken at farmers market
Most societies believe that food is a basic human right. The problem is, no one said it has to be good food. And by good, I mean nutritionally balanced, fresh, high-quality food - a luxury no matter where you live.
Farmers' market ready for season
The Oconee County Farmers' Market will open at 8 a.m. Saturday on the grounds of the Eagle Tavern Museum. The market features fresh vegetables, fruits, plants, baked items and other assorted goodies.
Farmers market has more than just food
When Angela Ielasi and her husband, Steve, first moved to Athens from Australia a few years ago, they were starting over. While her husband was looking for a job, Ielasi made earrings. "I ended up with lots of extra earrings, so I got on the Internet to find a place to sell them," Ielasi said.
